Carlos is still with you and he's your closest contact up until this point, and it makes sense that the Boss would want to approach whoever is willing to work with him to start with (before Maero offered that shitty deal). Plus, the ending mission with that plane chase just feels like something that'd make a good final mission for the gang stories before the epilogue.įor SR2, I think the Brotherhood come first. The Rollerz would come after since they're the smaller and easier gang to take out, and the Carnales would come last with how they're connected to international crime syndicates and are said to be the most dangerous of the three. It just made sense, especially with how Johnny refers to you as "Julius' new boy," it just feels like you're still new to the gang. From the Samedi, most of what you get are the trash heaps of the city - with the Brotherhood you evolve to some nicer neighborhoods as well as the extremely useful airport and docks, finally followed by the 'bling' regions on the north island controlled by the Ronin.įor SR1, I think I always took out the Vice Kings first. It doesn't make complete sense, having Carlos out of the action for no particular reason for a whole arc at first and Johnny for two arcs, or Maero offering you 20 percent when you've already taken one gang out, but I like the idea of escalating stakes, going from a run-of-the-mill drug war with no major casualties on your side to more personal arcs.Īlso the main antagonist initially appearing halfway through the game and presenting himself to the Boss for the first time late in the gang wars seems like a decent pacing, as opposed to, say, leaving the Samedi till last and having him nowhere to be seen.Īnother aspect of the escalation when doing them in this order is the gang territories. Never played SR1, but for 2 my traditional order is Samedi, Brotherhood, Ronin.
